Vinted: if you sell for profit, use Pro

Vinted says standard accounts can't be used to sell items professionally. Anyone with business legal status, anyone acting for a business, or anyone selling to make a profit must register as a Vinted Pro seller.

Buying items in order to resell them, whether from charity shops, car boots or bulk lots, counts as selling for profit.

What even Pro sellers can't sell

• New items bought to resell: wholesale stock, bulk orders and retail purchases resold for profit. This applies to Pro sellers too.
• New or custom handmade goods.
• Cosmetics and beauty devices.

Listing rules that catch people out

• One item per listing. Bundles must be labelled as a bundle and priced as a total.
• Your own unedited photos only. No stock images. The first photo must show the whole item.
• Only list items you're sure are authentic. Disclaimers like "not sure if real" aren't allowed.
• No "inspired by" plus a brand name.
• No links to other websites in listings or your profile.

Automation tools

Crosslisting providers report that Vinted has been enforcing stricter rules against automated activity since September 2026, and one major crosslister stopped taking new Vinted users in October 2026. The safest approach is to list on Vinted by hand and avoid bots, auto-relisters and browser extensions that act on your account.

eBay: the same line, a business account

eBay's business seller policy says a seller must register as a business if, for example, they sell items they have bought to resell. Business sellers must give full contact details, show clear prices including delivery, offer a returns policy, and tell buyers about their 14-day right to cancel where it applies.
