How to write a Vinted description buyers trust
On Vinted, buyers scroll photos first and read the description to decide. A good description answers their questions before they message you: what it is, what size it really is, and what condition it's in.
4 min read · Updated 3 November 2026
The four things every description needs
- What it is: brand (if there's a label), item type and colour.
- Size: from the label, plus how it fits if you know (runs small, oversized).
- Measurements laid flat: pit to pit and length for tops, waist and inside leg for trousers.
- Condition: honest and specific. Name any flaw and where it is, and point to the photo that shows it.

Illustrative example
- Line 1
- [Brand] [item] in [colour], size [size].
- Line 2
- [Fit or feature, e.g. relaxed fit, two front pockets].
- Condition
- [Very good / good / satisfactory]. [Flaw and where it is] (see photo [number]).
- Measurements
- Pit to pit [x] cm, length [x] cm, laid flat.
Fill in only what's true for your item. Leave a line out rather than guess.
What to leave out
- Links, phone numbers, emails or social handles. Vinted doesn't allow taking buyers off the platform.
- "Not sure if real" disclaimers or "inspired by" plus a brand. Only list items you're sure are authentic.
- Long lists of other brands to catch searches.
- Claims you can't back up, such as "never worn" on something that has been.
